Two problems after just 3 days and a few other comments…, December 29, 2012

After careful research, I ordered this tablet. The other reviews were mostly positive. On Christmas Day, my 14 year old opens it and the internal pin for charging is bent. We had to find a tiny screwdriver to bend it back in place so it could be charged. Three days later, the pin on the charger itself falls out, yes, it fell out! After the first problem, I looked closer at the entire product and the box and can’t find the brand name “Chromo” anywhere. It is a very generic box that says “MID” and “Android” all over it. The instruction manual also has no reference to “Chromo” anywhere. I reached out to the seller to ask about this and their response was: “Thank you for contacting us. Many companies like Chromo, AGPteK, Kocaso, Allwinner, etc, sell this same MID tablet under their Brand name. You have received the correct item. Please advise.”

Yes, it was inexpensive. Yes, you get what you pay for. I am returning it and will purchase something sturdier.

On a shipping note, I ordered this on Dec. 14th. It is shipping from the supplier. I get a note from Amazon on the 17th saying it shipped and I get a tracking number for USPS. It is shipped “priority mail”. I look online and although it shows up with the tracking number, nothing actually happens until the 21st of December when it goes from Brooklyn, NY to Bethpage, NY. I followed it all weekend when I could see it showed up at my local post office on the 24th. I had to hunt down the postal truck to get my package before we left for Christmas Eve festivities…10 days…really? Not sure if I should place the blame on the USPS or the seller, perhaps a little of both??

Update on Jan. 3, 2013…I will say the seller is very responsive. They say customer service is very important to them and I will agree that they walk the walk which is very refreshing.

Chromo Inc 7″ Black Android 4.0 Tablet, February 11, 2013

Over the past few years I have refrained form joining the tablet revolution because I already have so many digital electronic devices in my possession. IE: 2 Android smartphones, pda, 2 digital cameras, 3 laptop pcs, just to name a few offhand.

However, when this tablet caught my eye, I decided to try one, especially taking into account the price and features.

Since this tablet has a limited internal memory (4 GB) I also purchased a 16 GB micro SD Card to push the capacity to 20 GB.

So far I have been completely satisfied with its’ overall performance. Remember, this is my first tablet!

I like the fact that it does not require a contract since I mainly use it at home or at work, where I can use the Wi Fi connection. I have also found it can be tethered to my smartsphone to access the Internet. Took me a while to figure that one out, but it is possible! Just use Google to find out how.

The only downside I can see is the life of the battery (2-3 hrs). But I knew this beforehand, so I always have one or two chargers with me. It can be charged either with the plug in charger included with the tablet or with the same micro USB charger for my phone. So, for me, this does not pose a problem.

Yes, it may be slower than other higher priced tablets, but it does perform exactly as described.

In fact, a few days after purchasing one for myself, I ended up purchasing another for my partner who has experienced the same results a myself.

Overall we both are completely satisfied with this product. I have rated it with 4 stars out of 5 simply because I have not had it long enough to give it 5. This does not in any way mean it does not deserve 5 stars, I just have to use it more!

Give it a try, you will be surprised how easy it is to use.

Great for the Price, January 10, 2013

Are these those most powerful tablets on the market ?
no
Do they have the best picture?
no

but for this price these tablets are fantastic. I bought these for both my kids for christmas? Like every parent I was worried about buying a $400 tablet to put into my childs care. Both of my kids are fairly responsible for their age, but still. then I came across this tablet. these tablet has been great for everything my kids have thrown at it. the youngest is mostly games, but my oldest does email, netflix, hulu, youtube and a bunch of games and this powers through them all.

so sure you can find more powerful better looking tablets out there, but if you are looking for a cheap, well built, tablet this one does it thing,

oh one last thing battery lift I know that is everyones first concern, My son will crush this battery in about an hour to and hour and half. but that is straight play, no break, cut the rope marathons. then he plugs it in and about 2 hours later battery is fully charged and he is back at it. so for me with the amount of work he puts it through the battery does pretty good.

Don’t be scared off by the price!, December 6, 2012

I received this tablet today and was quite weary by the lack of reviews. I really was looking for a 7 inch tablet that can stay on par with the competition at a fraction of the cost. Boy was I shocked when I began to use it. It is incredibly user friendly. The apps are already downloaded to the tablet and it does everything that it advertises. The slight gripe I would have is that seems run slowly when running flash on occasion. Much better than in iPad mini though which does not run Flash at all. The other really cool thing is that I can put in my micro sd card and gain 32GB of memory so easily. I also connected my flash drive to the tablet and it recognized and used it quite well. I haven’t had this too long and will leave more edits as time goes on. Seriously, if you are looking for a 7″ tablet, BUY THIS ONE. You will not regret it.

Update #1: a few small things I have noticed: First, the keyboard is a little bit wonky. I can’t quite explain it but it doesn’t effect me too much now that I’m used to it. Secondly, the battery life is not top notch. With the screen dimmed all the way and watching netflix, I get about 3 hours, not awful but you will never say “Wow, I can’t believe the battery hasn’t died yet!” Overall, I still love it for both work and play. Definitely a very good buy for someone looking for a tablet in this price range.

Update #2: Still in love with this tablet. I bought 7″ Tablet Stand with USB Keyboard – Black Faux Leather Carrying Case so I don’t have to lug around my computer anymore to type. Works great. A few other minor grievances that I have come across are the fact that if you turn it off, it take a bit to load up and work at full capacity. Also, there is no option to refresh your email. You set it to check your email every 5,10,15,30,or 60 minutes. I obviously set 5 minutes because I want to be up-to-the-minute on my life, hence the reason owning a tablet. Overall though, it’s still a great product especially for the price. Again, if you are debating on spending a small fortune on an iPad mini or Kindle Fire HD, look the specs out of this on first. I’m not saying it’s completely up to par with those, but odds are that this one will do everything that you want/need it to do for a much smaller hit to the wallet.

I ordered this little tablet on Thursday, Oct 11 and it arrived on Tuesday, Oct 16 – having been shipped “free” by DHL from Shenzhen China via Hong Kong, Cincinnati, Denver and Billings, MT! Amazed indeed that it arrived so quickly and turned out to be ‘exactly as described’, with all the listed pre-installed apps ready to go. Logged onto our wireless network effortlessly and was surfing the net in less than five minutes. Downloaded the Skype ap (free) from Amazon and despite a warning that video calling had not been certified for this device was chatting face-to-face with family in the Caribbean “toute suite”. Watched a live stream of the Presidential Debate while posting my thoughts on Facebook and following all the buzz on Twitter. Watched a couple YouTube videos, read some sample pages of J. K. Rowling’s new book on Google Play, chatted on MSN Messenger and created /saved a Word document using Dataviz (this version even supports ‘pinch-zoom’). Talk about a Happy Camper!

Great Table For The Price IF IT WORKED!!!, November 12, 2012

First off, hats off to the seller as the tablet arrived before the window provided.
Secondly, the table was packaged nicely to protect it during shipping.

Now, for that tablet itself, I’m very pleased with it. Having Ice Cream Sandwich installed is a plus as I’m already used to the OS by now with my Galaxy phone. It was very easy to get accustomed to. The apps load fairly smoothly. Netflix had a couple of hiccups but after restoring to factory settings, setting it up with my account, and reloading, problem solved.

I will say that the picture quality using Netflix is not as good as on my iPad, but that’s ok. The tablet was less than $90! I bought it for my daughter as a Christmas present and she’s not to the point where image quality is a big deal. It’s like watching good YouTube video: slight pixelling but again, not a big deal.

The apps I’ve installed so far run very well. The tablet itself is put together well in my opinion and has a decent weight to it when holding in my hand. I would have thought the 7″ screen would have been small but when you actually have it in person it’s slightly bigger than originally thought.

I’m going to do some more testing between now and when it’s wrapped for under the tree, so if I run into any problems I’ll update here, but so far so good!

UPDATE::: 12/26/12::: the tablet ceased working after about 45 days. I’ve contacted the seller about this and since the warranty is only for 30 days after you receive it you’re stuck with dealing with the manufacturer. I’ve emailed ZTO Technology and am currently waiting on a response. I will say at this point to beware purchasing this tablet. It was just fine in the beginning but turned to $89 worth of junk parts I can’t do anything with. This was meant to be a christmas present for my 8 year old daughter. Thank goodness there was a lot of stuff under the tree or I would be pretty pissed right now. We’ll see if ZTO will help me before I file a complaint.

Good Product but….., September 18, 2012

This leather case is as advertised as far as the color and function are concerned. The gadgets that came with it were a nice perk however the USB cord came without the actual charger. I can’t complain about the price although shipping was almost the same cost as the case. The only true complaint I have is that the edges of case cover the face of my device just enough to prohibit one of it’s primary functions. Its needs to be about an 1/8 inch smaller on the part of the case that frames the device.
All in all its a good product. If they decrease shipping and handling just a little it’s well worth the cost.

Love it!!!, August 19, 2012

Received my case yesterday. It fits my nexus 7 perfectly! The magnetic sleep/wake feature works great. The stylus is a little light weight but works just fine. The screen protector is a perfect fit and was easy enough to install. The case does not add too much bulk to my tablet and is comfortable to hold. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this bundle package! Great buy at an awesome price!

The Best $60 Tablet with android 4.0., January 4, 2013

Cotton Joe Nailed alot of the good and the bad of this tablet, i would just like to input some more information.

This tablet is really good, i bought 4 different mini android tablets, two of them where 4.3-4.5 inch and ran android 2.2 which is just crap. I bought a machspeed 4.3 inch android 4.0 tablet (without camera) for $78 shipped. Honestly this tablet from Pro Ebiz is the best one i have bought, This is the only 4.3 inch tablet which has voice to text (i can use skyvi – its like siri but for android) and it has a camera. I mean the camera is not a high end feature, but it is useful for barcode scanning and camera to pdf apps.
Also i bought a iRulu Aritificial Leather Case with Mini USB Keyboard on amazon, although its huge compared to the 4.3 inch tablet, it worked the instant i plugged it in to the tablets mini usb port. This is a very nice addon.

Now some bad things. I am very good at electronics, but i cant figure out this problem yet: I went to google market which told me to upgrade to google play store so i did, i downloaded some free apps, then i shut down the tablet, when i put it back on the play store will not let me download anything else, it gives some kind of error, i might have to reinstall google play store but most chinese tablets dont legally have a play store license with google. I could flash the tablet or add google, but i dont like going to so much effort really.

Thats really the only bad thing i seen.

I put some apps, like a gba emulator, which worked really well. it plays all my classic nintendo game boy advance games good.
I also put StyleTap on the tablet, which is a palm os 5 emulator for android – it works PERFECT!
I tested the skyvi app only a little but it worked (skyvi is like siri for the iphone)
also have picsay pro – a photo editor – it works great!
i have dsoid (a nintendo ds emulator ) the tablet runs the app but i didnt try any rom’s yet.

I also have other apps but i dont want to get too into it heh.

But this is the best $60 i spent on a small android tablet. I was thinking of getting a 7 inch android tablet, but then thought “WHY?” i have a windows 7 laptop and dont need another computer, i needed something that can fit in my pocket and 7 inch tablets are not pocket-able lol.

The next items for this tablet are:
Mini usb to HDMI outout (not sure if it will work i am going to ask the merchant)
External Mini USB charger (so i dont need the be by a wall outlet to charge my tablet)
GSM Modem (having internet everywhere would be good for when i go out)
